Majestic Creek Country Club is a challenging course that was once rated by a German golf magazine as a Hua Hin’s best golf course. Designed by Dr. Sukkitti Klangvisai, a local Thai golf course designer who is also responsible for Phuket's Loch Palm, Majestic Creek features rolling hilly terrain with tricky greens.
Being set in the mountains just west of Hua Hin, Majestic Creek has natural surrounding scenery. Valleys in the nearby mountains supply water to the maze of streams winding around the course, and the builders have been careful to preserve them as natural hazards; which makes for some tricky shots over water.
The 7,123 yard layout that provides a range of different, well designed challenges to the player. Low handicappers will especially appreciate the many challenging tee shots. There are significant carries over lakes and a maze of streams wind around the course. However, the palm tree lined fairways are firm which gives for significant roll-out of well-struck drives.
Almost all the holes have water hazards (small lakes or creeks) as well as several bunkers. For a good score, precise shots and good nerves are required. The challenging final hole is a 588 yard par 5 that demands a long and accurate tee shot to find ideal fairway position. This achieved, a stream and a lake must be crossed before the putter can be taken gratefully in hand. To complete the round, the narrow final green that slopes steeply from back to front must be negotiated.
Majestic Creek Country Club is a favorite among locals and expatriates living in Hua Hin as the course conditions are probably the most consistent year round as compared to all other Hua Hin golf courses.
The Japanese Zyosia grass greens tend to be on the slow side. However, all the greens slope one way or another which makes for difficult side hill lies if one is not careful with their approach shots.
The clubhouse at Majestic Creek offers a full range of rental equipment, basic locker rooms, a pro shop, and an outdoor golfer's cafe. Other facilities include two putting greens, a chipping area and a grass driving range.
